Composition:
Each 1 ml of solution contains:
- Erythromycin 40 mg
- Zinc acetate 12 mg
Mechanism of Action:
Erythromycin is a macrolide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, thereby suppressing Propionibacterium acnes growth. Zinc acetate has anti-inflammatory properties and enhances the penetration and stability of erythromycin. The combination reduces bacterial colonization, inflammation, and sebum activity, leading to acne improvement.
Indications:
- Treatment of mild to moderate acne vulgaris.
- Reduction of inflammatory papules and pustules.
- Adjunct therapy with systemic acne treatments.
Dosage & Administration:
Adults & Adolescents (≥12 years): Apply a thin film to the affected areas of the skin twice daily (morning and evening) after cleansing and drying the skin.
Duration: Typically 6–12 weeks, depending on clinical response.

Topical solution, 20 ml bottle (Erythromycin 4% + Zinc acetate 1.2%).
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to erythromycin, zinc, or any component of the formulation.

Safe and effective use has been established in children ≥12 years. Safety in younger children has not been established.
Overdose:
Topical overdose is unlikely. Accidental oral ingestion may cause gastrointestinal upset and requires symptomatic treatment.
