This chemical derivative was shown to be the most potent of a long series of hetamethazone esters and many other corticosteroids,
Beta - Val preparations are highly effective treatment for inflammatory dermatosis which are normally responsive to topical corticosteroid therapy.
Indications & Usage:
- Different types of eczema including atopic eczema. flexural eczcma. discoid eczema. mfantile eczema and stasis eczema.
- Neurodermatosis including lichen simplex.

- Psoriasis.
- Contact sensitivity reactions and allergies.
- Insect bites.

- Prickly heat.

- Generalized erythrodema.
- Seborrhoeicdermatitis
Application:
A small quantity should be applied gently to the affected area once or twice daily until improvement occurs.
Treatment should be continued few days after symptoms have disappeared to maintain prorcssivc improvement.

Beta-Val Cream preparations are preferable for moist or weeping surfaces.
Beta-Val ointment having an emollient properties and is quite satisfactory for dry lesions.
Precautions and side effects:
The possibility of systemic absorption should be considered when Beta-Val preparations arc used on extensive areas or for prolonged periods. Absorption is more likely in infants and children and may occur even in the absence of occlusion.

Beta-Mit preparations arc usually well tolerated, but and if signs of hypersensitivity appears. application should be stopped immediately.
In rare instances, treatment of psoriasis with corticosteroids (or its withdrawal) is thought to have provoked the pustular form of disease.
