StorageSmart is an educational tool for practicing correct storage and handling classification of real branded medications across 8 categories: Refrigerated, Frozen, Controlled Substance, Hazardous Drug, Flammable, Light-Sensitive, Protect from Moisture, and Room Temperature. It is designed for pharmacy students, technicians, and pharmacists who want to build or test their recall of storage requirements — including DEA controlled-substance scheduling and USP <800> hazardous-drug handling — for real, named products rather than generic categories.
The tool has three modes. In Quiz mode, a drug card is shown and the user selects its correct storage category from four options; the tool gives immediate feedback plus the specific handling rule for that drug. In Reference mode, the same 188-drug database can be searched (matching brand name, generic name, drug class, or the handling-rule text itself ) or filtered by storage category, and viewed as a table. In Progress mode, mastery is tracked per storage category based on quiz performance, stored locally in the browser.

How to Use This Tool
- Open the HTML file in any modern browser — no installation needed
- Read and acknowledge the initial disclaimer screen (shown once per version )
- Choose a mode from the top bar: Quiz, Reference, or Progress
- In Quiz mode: read the drug shown, select its correct storage category from the four options, review the feedback and handling rule, then continue to the next drug
- Optional: use the category filter to focus the quiz on one storage category at a time
- In Reference mode: type in the search box (matches brand, generic, class, or rule text) and/or use the category filter to narrow the table
- In Reference mode: select "Cheat Sheet" to open a print-formatted version of the current table
- In Progress mode: review mastery by category, or select "Reset Progress" to clear all tracked stats
