MODE OF ACTION:
E-MOX’5’ is a se9isynthetic bactericidal nnicillin derivative with a broad anti-microbial efficacy against G +1ve and G - ye bacteria duch as streptococcus pyogenes, Streptococcus pneumonia, streptococcus faecalis, non penicillinaue producing Staphylococci, Bacillus anlhracis. Coryncbacterin spp., Clostridis spp., Salrnonellae, N. gonorrhoeae and meningitides, Haersqrphilus influenzae, Brucetla app. and Bordetella pertussis. PHARMACOKINETICS:
E.MOXw although structurally related to ampicillin, it achieves twice as high peak plasma concentrations as ioae from the same does of ampicillin, with detectable effective concentrations pres4nt for up to twice as lon as with ampicillin -
E-MOX is widely distributed in body ti5aue and fluids . It penetrates well into mucoid and parulent sputum as well as in the middle earfluid. High concentrations have been reported in bile.
E.MOX0 ( up to 75 fr) of a parenteral dose has been reported to be excreted unchanged in the urine within 6 flours. INDICATIONS: Ear, nose and throat infections: otitis me4a, sinusitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis,
epiglottitis.
Respiratory tract infections: acute and chrdiuic bronchitis, pneumonia, empyema.
Genito-Urinary infections: cystitis, pyelonephritis, urethritis, gonorrhoea.
Skin and soft tissue infections: wound infections, cellalitis, pyodermia, erysipelas.
