Klarimix tablets and suspension
Composition:
Klarimix 250 mg Tablets:
Each tablet contains: Clarithromycin 250 mg
KIarimix 500 mg Tablets:
Each tablet contains: Clarithromycin 500 mg
Klarimix 125 mg /5 ml Powder Pro Suspension:
Each 5 ml contains: Clarithromycin 125 mg
Each 10 ml contains: Clarithromycin 250 mg

Properties:
Klarimix is bactericidal antibiotic that acts by inhibition of the bacterial protein synthesis. Following oral administration, Klarimix is rapidly absorbed and widely :
distributed throughout the body.
Microbiology:
Klarimix is usually active against the following organisms in vitro:
Gram-Positive Bacteria: Staph. aureus (methicillin susceptible); Streptococcus
pyogenes; Streptococcus viridans; Streptococcus pneu moniae;
Streptococcus agalactiae; Listeria monocytogenes.
Gram-Negative Bacteria: Haemophilus influenzae; Haemophilus parainfluenzae;
Moraxella (Branhamella)catarrhalis; Neisseria gonorrhoeae; Legionella
pneumophila; Bordetella pertussis; Helicobacter pylon; Campylobacterjejuni.
Other Organisms: Mycoplasma pneumoniae; Ureaplasma urealyticum;
Chiamydia trachomatis; Mycobacterium species.
Anaerobes: Bacteroides fragilis; Clostridium perfringens; Peptococcus species;
Peptostreptococcus species.
indications:
Klarimix is indicated in the treatment of the following infections caused by single or mixed susceptible organisms:
Lower respiratory tract infections: Acute and chronic bronchitis and pneumonia. Upper respiratory tract infections: Tonsillitis, Pharyngitis, Sinusitis and
Otitis media (in children).
H. pylon eradication in patients with duodenal ulcer.
Uncomplicated skin and skin structure infection.
Contraindications:
Clarithromycin is contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to macrolides. Clarithromycin is contraindicated in patients receiving
cisapride, pimozide and terfenadine.
