Tablets
Mebeverine Hydrochloride
Selective Spasmolytic
Composition:
Each tablet contains:
4-(Ethyl (4-methoxy
- a - methyiphenethyl) aminoj - butyl veratrate
hydrochloride;
Mebeverine Hydrochloride 100 mg
Properties:
Spasmotalin tablets contain mebeverine hydrochloride which is a mvoiropic spasmolytic with a strong and selective action on the smooth muscle spasms of the gastro-intestinal tract particularly of the colon. It is not an anticholinergic drug.
Indications:
Spastic functional disturbances of the colon.
• Irritable coion syndrome in its primary form.
• Colonic irritation associated with organic lesions of the gastro-intestinal tract such as diverticulosis and diverticulitis of the colon, intestinal amoebiasis, regional enteritis, diseases of the gall-bladder and bile ducts (biliary dyskinesia), gastric and duodenal ulcers, dysentery (whether or not anamnestic) and aspecific or specific inflammations of the digestive tract.
Dosage:
One tablet 3
- 4 times daily, preferably 20 minutes before meals.
When the desired effect has been obtained, the dosage may be reduced
gradually after few weeks.
Side-effects:
No adverse effects attributable to Spasmotalin have been reported after the use of the drug in therapeutic doses.
Contra-indications:
Contra-indications to the use of Spasmotalin are not known. As atropine-likc side-effects are absent, Spasmotalin is not contra-indicated in patients with glaucoma or prostatic hypertrophy.
Precautions:
Though pcrimerasin rats and rabbits ha’ie shown ihmebevëfihé
hydrochloride is not teratogenic in these species, administration of
Spasmotalin is to be discouraged during pregnancy.

Box containing 2 Strips, 10 tablets each.
